Christmas 2008 - "A Star Is Born"

Last December 21, Lift Jesus Higher Church celebrated/remembered the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We put together the musicale "A Star Is Born" by Celeste Clydesdale. Because of the short time that we have, we just interpreted the parts and lip-sync. Here are some excerpts of the musicale.

"A Star Is Born" is really a blessing to many, the simplicity of the lyrics of each song reminds us of what is the importance of the birth of Jesus, and the humbleness and salvation that it brought to us all.

Merry Christmas!

Children Are Really A Blessing!

This was the Children's Ministry presentation for the church anniversary last November 9, 2008. I am really proud of these kids in sharing their time and exploring the talents that they may have all for God.

The first video is a dance number of Hillsong Kids: "Jesus Is My Superhero".

Align Center
The video below is titled "Friend of God", a simple interpretation was given on this song.

Our very own Micah and Thia gave their rendition of Hillsong United's "Hosanna".

This last video is a presentation from Yeshua Christian Academy with the song "My Redeemer Lives".

It was really an event that showcased the talents that God gave each one of us. Learning our talents at a young age will give us better chances to know God's purpose early (but it's never too late, take it from me) and to hone those skills for the right time that God will use us.

Again, thank you for all those who gave their time and cooperation in making the presentations possible. God bless you all!

Youth Ministry Anniversary Presentation

The Youth Ministry and their presentation last 4th Anniversary of Lift Jesus Higher Church. Using the song Unfailing Love of Hillsong as background music.

This is about a person's search on who Jesus really is. In the process encountering different people and what they know about Jesus. It leads that individual to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Note: Due to some problems with the video, this is only the last part of the presentation.

Creative Arts Ministry's First Interpretative Dance

This is the first presentation of the Creative Arts Ministry for Interpretative Dancing. The song Heart of Worship is a fitting description on what real worship should be.

This was done last November 9 for Lift Jesus Higher Church on its 4th Anniversary. A new year of exploring our purpose, talents and God's grace awaits each one of us.

Again thank you to those who have helped and participated in this event. God bless!

4th Anniversary Of Lift Jesus Higher Church Antipolo

Lift Jesus Higher Church just celebrated last November 9, 2008 its 4th Anniversary with the theme "Redeeming The Time: Know God's Purpose". It was a day of celebration even if it rained really hard that afternoon.

The church expansion was just in time for this occasion so it was able to accommodate the additional visitors.

Pastora Ranie and Pastor Fernando gave certificates to Pastora Marissa and Pastor Ramer for their dedication to the ministry.

Presentations were made by the different ministries, Creative Ministry (a definite first for this ministry), Children's Ministry (I am so blessed), Youth Ministry (overflowing with potential) and Music Ministry (keep up the good work). Below is the Interpretative Group with their interpretation of Hillsong's Heart of Worship, a video of this will be posted.

The Children's Ministry preparing for their presentation in candid shots, they danced Hillsong Kid's Jesus is My Superhero and Friend of God, video will also follow.

Some of the students from Yeshua Christian Academy dancing to Hillsong's My Redeemer Lives. It was really uplifting to see children share their talents.

Some of our youth who have also participated in the presentations, having fun shots after the service.

We look forward to another year of sharing Jesus to everyone we encounter and to be able to live our lives to the best that we can, exploring our talents and using it for God's glory and honor.

God bless!

700 Club Asia's 14th Anniversary, A Thanksgiving Celebration

I was excited that day, October 4. It was the 14th Anniversary of 700 Club Asia, a Saturday. I came with a friend of mine since I was allowed only one companion. It rained hard in Antipolo that afternoon but still we went because we want to attend and be blessed.

This was the lobby of the Word for the World Christian Fellowship in Makati City where the event took place.

Opening the program was Peter Kairuz and Coney Reyes, they welcomed everyone who attended and talked about God's goodness too 700 Club Asia.

Gordon Robertson ministered to those who attended about spiritual gifts and how you can desire and ask God. There was a prophetic team and together with CBN Asia's praise team sang songs that filled the sanctuary.

The above photo was an activity that all of us participated which was called the prayer tunnel. As you pass through, each one you pass by will pray for you and as you go to the end then you will in return pray for those who pass. It was a different experience for me and I saw God's move that night.

What can I say I'm not the one in the picture, she's my friend who I came with and I wasn't able to teach her how to take pictures using my mobile camera. But I was happy taking the shots.

I saw a few of my friends from the Children's Ministry of WWCF and Sis. Sue who is the wife of the Senior Pastor Bro. Gerry Holloway. I am happy and blessed to have known them.

For additional information on this event please visit CBN Asia.

God bless.

Ignite the Fire Event: A Real Eye-Opener

Last September 20, 2008 was the 1st Knox Praise and Worship Conference aptly titled "Ignite the Fire". This was really a wake up call to those in the music ministry and even the message was applicable to the other ministries in the church.

There were four of us from Lift Jesus Higher Church (LJHC) that have attended - me (I am the one taking the picture), from the left Leah, Pastora Marissa and Faith. Each attended a different workshops dance, worship leading, voice and guitar.

The first speaker was Rev. Clem Guillermo, he discussed the topic "The Musician and His Family", it was very informative and helped me better understand the music ministry. The event was hosted by Ms. Haydee Sampang and Atty. Edith Santos both from 702 DZAS.

The next speaker was Pastor Henry Santos, he explained the topic "Foundations of Biblical Worship and Music Ministry".

This is where I attended the dance workshops which was after our lunch. It answered my questions on interpretative dancing and has given me insights.

I was blessed to see the above group of kids dancing with their tambourines, the little girl in the middle is really not with the group but was trying hard to imitate them and you can see her smile and pure joy in what she was doing.

To wrap up the event was a question and answer portion, if there were any clarifications that the the participants want to ask the workshop speakers. All of us who participated are waiting for next one.

Congratulations to those who have organized the event, God's blessings be upon you.

Our 1st Creative Arts Ministry Audition

Last September 14, Lift Jesus Higher Church had its 1st Creative Arts Ministry Audition. There were about 16 people who participated in this event. There were 3 judges who looked at each participant to see their talents and how they answer the questions given to them. Also, they were given some situations that can show their eagerness to do whatever challenge they are presented.

I was really blessed to see each of the participants that really tried their best to show the talents that God has given them. At the same time they are ready to enhance these said talents. This event also reminded me about the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) that Jesus shared.

I am really happy for the opportunity this has given me. I don't know where it will lead but I am stepping in faith and learning to listen to what God wants to take me. I also want to explore the talents that were given me, it's not too late to find our true purpose.

In everything that we do, this is all for God's glory.

The Sonicflood Concert - A Different Experience

I thank God that I was able to attend this event though it was really raining hard that evening. I was blessed to be able to watch it for free because of my friend who has yet again was not able to attend the concert because of unavoidable circumstances created mostly by the rain.

The concert didn't start on time because most of the people had a hard time to get to the venue because of the weather that evening, August 15 to be exact. I was not really going to attend but an opportunity arose and I had to jump on it.

I want to especially mention an incident this time though when I come to think of it was pretty embarrassing but hey God works in mysterious ways. When you attend a concert at the Araneta Coliseum, you have to remember the rules and regulations, no food and drinks allowed, there is a no re-entry policy this means when you go inside you won't be able to go outside because when you do so you have to pay again to enter.

I have to wait for my companions to get their tickets on the side gate of the General Admission entrance. There are four of us who will be attending, two went in to save seats and do the waiting which included me, so the two remaining I have to wait to give the tickets.

Through the waiting time I got to meet someone who was also waiting for his friend. We got to chat a little, his friend was arriving at any moment and so was mine. The problem was mine was having problems with parking because he had no cash at that time, he was asking me to come down, the problem was the no re-entry policy.

As the friend of my new found friend arrived, I asked the favor to help me in passing the money to that person in the parking lot so that he can still attend the concert and without really thinking or any hesitation that person really helped me (even if it was really late and it the concert was already in the middle part). He went down to the parking lot and handed the money. I am really thankful to both of these people, God bless you!

It was really a nice experience, to once again sing together with other people to praise and worship God. I am not really familiar with Sonicflood but hearing them talk about Jesus and sharing how the lead singer accepted Him was a very humbling experience. It pushes me to know Christ more in a more deeper personal level.

Again, thank you!

Lesson Review 2 - Truth & Honesty Series

This is the second week review for the closing of our lesson theme "Truth & Honesty". Teacher Ann started it with a game to give an energy boost to the children.

She also gave the children some information that uses colors to describe it. This is the truths that the lessons want to impart.

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:32

Truth #1 (YELLOW) - God is holy and must punish sin.

Truth #2 (BLACK) - We have sinned and we will be punished.

As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one."
Romans 3:10

Truth #3 (RED) - Jesus took our sin and our punishment.

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:
that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures."
1 Corinthians 15:3

Honesty (WHITE) - We must honestly admit we need Jesus
to rescue us.

"An evil man is trapped by his sinful talk, but a righteous man escapes trouble." Proverbs 12:13

This is the last week for this series, we will be finishing with the answering of the forms in order to know how much the kids have learned.

Lesson Review 1 - Truth & Honesty Series

We are now on our review of the lessons that have been taken up for the Truth & Honesty series from Lessons 1 to 10.

One type of review made was asking the children to form four groups that consist of two participants. They were to create a short interpretation of the theme they have chosen that were written on pieces of paper.

This is what the children have come up with.

I am again thankful for this kind of lessons that will be helpful to the children's moral and spiritual growth. Even to us teachers it is really a journey of discovery, lessons that teach us also and knowing our talents and being able to share it to others.

God bless!

A New School (Part 2)

The new schoolroom was finished in time for the new school year. Also, the name of the school has been changed from Kiddie's Home to Yeshua Christian Academy.

The photos below are a Sunday school setting for the Children's Ministry of Lift Jesus Higher Church. We give praise to God on such a wonderful blessing, a place that is more conducive to learning and doing activities, all for God's glory.

before & after

Again, we give thanks to those God has used in making this possible. This affects first the children who are enrolled in the school and those that attend church during Sundays.

God bless you.

A New School (Part 1)

The Preschool of Lift Jesus Higher Church started in a small wooden room that is also used during Sunday by the Children's Ministry. Someone has greatly blessed this ministry and gave support in putting up a new schoolroom for the children.

The following pictures were taken before the new schoolroom was finished.

I will be posting the final outcome of this great blessing. We thank you for the help that was extended in making this happen. God will surely bless those who bless others.
