Lesson 6 - Honesty Is Essential

Note: The lessons were taken from the Truth and Honesty Teachers Manual of Voice Philippines.

"Lies will get any man into trouble, but honesty is its own defense." Proverbs 12:13 (New Living Bible)

"He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need." Ephesians 4:28

Teacher Joan started the lesson about honesty by starting a game where a child will guess one letter of the word that is being solved. Those who were able to give a correct letter will get a candy as a prize.

After the game the child with a candy will surely open it and realize that instead of a piece of candy, it is a piece of stone. Which means there was dishonesty, the opposite of honesty.

Honesty is defined as being truthful. It is saying NO to lying, stealing, cheating, or playing tricks. They were given some actions to be able to remember it faster.

They were given some activities to answer and also an assignment, to be passed by next meeting.

Lesson 5 - The Truth About God's Help

Note: The lessons were taken from the Truth and Honesty Teachers Manual of Voice Philippines.

"For with God, all things are possible."
Luke 1:37

In this lesson the children were taught about God's help. The story about Corrie ten Boom was shared to them. This occurred at the time of World War II when Adolf Hitler who was then the military leader of Germany was aimed in killing all Jews. Corrie and her family were from Holland they know that what was being done was wrong, so they hid the Jews because they know that God will always help them.

Corrie's family was eventually arrested for helping the Jews. Corrie's father died 10 days after, Corrie and her sister (Betsie), was taken to prison in Germany. They ate a small meal per day and they were often beaten by the guards.

Even if this happened to them, they believed that God will always help them. They prayed, read the Bible, and even sang songs. But her sister got sick and eventually died, still she hold on to the truth that someday she will be free.

She did get released from prison, Corrie gave her Bible to someone and shared the truth that God would always help them. Corrie also learned to forgive the guards, even when she saw one of the guards again.

Corrie ten Boom started helping other prisoners who were released from the prison. She was also able to speak in a number of countries including the Philippines. Corrie wrote many books and her story was also made into film several times.

Corrie was able to beat all the odds because of the truth that God will always help her.
